This blog has come about after enjoying a Norfolk Medieval Graffiti Survey open day and learning that there is significantly more to historical venues than meets the eye.

Mostly found in churches, you can use a torch and a small digital camera to find marks left by ordinary folk who lived during very interesting times.

I am by no means an expert - on the contrary, I am a complete beginner at all of this but this has really caught my imagination. So, the idea behind this blog is to really just document my travels and share some of the findings. I am not claiming that any of these findings will be medieval, nor what they actually mean, just a way of recording what I find.
